There is Gold In Them Thar Hills

Value Analysis is not a new concept. It has been around for 60 years, but has just gained serious interest by healthcare providers over the last 10 years.  Value Analysis had its beginnings in the late 1940's, when Lawrence D. Miles developed the concept of Value Analysis and Value Engineering while employed as Manager, Value Services, with the General Electric Company. He found that when most people evaluate a product, service or technology, they only look at the product, service or a technology’s aesthetics and not its reason for being...FUNCTION.  He found further that the more one understood the function of a product, service or technology, the more opportunities arose for dramatically reducing the cost and improving the quality of the product, service or technology under investigation by substituting and/or in some cases eliminating an element of a product, service or technology with an equal or better product, process or system than was used prior to the investigation.

If This Is Such A Great Savings System, Why Aren't The Classic Techniques of Value Analysis More Widely Employed by Healthcare Organizations Today?

The simple answer is, since most healthcare executives feel that they are already utilizing the techniques of value analysis (or is the model the 80's product evaluation model?) in their day-to-day operations, why do they need to learn more about it? The simple fact is that few, if any healthcare organizations, are truly utilizing the classic techniques of value analysis, but think they are! Because of a true misunderstanding about what value analysis is all about, they are missing a huge opportunity for savings and quality improvement at the hospitals.

if you have any experience at all in the purchasing and materials world you realize that all this talk about gaining physician and clinician buy is is so important but we must not forget about all the other customers, department heads and managers inside our organization.  They have just as much impact on products, services and technologies as the doctors do!  This system will help you talk intelligently to all the specialized areas of your operations even though you are not an expert in all your customers respective disciplines.  This surefire strategic value analysis system will give you the right questions and the right approach that will take you beyond just finding out why they "Like" a product.  Your customers will reveal their true decision making mechanisms because you will be asking "Intelligent Questions" which they just don't get asked in the way the strategic value system will show you how to ask them.  They will trust that you know what your doing and have their interests in mind.

to Our most recent client surveys show that 79% of all remaining savings opportunities for hospitals, systems and IDN resides in Utilization related areas of your organization.  Which means that value practitioners job is has become even more challenging a task because they need to tnot to deal with price based issues, it is to take the savings to a whole new level which we call "Saving Beyond Price!"  This system will not only give you a big advantage that will allow you to "See The Savings Through The Forest"
